Five Berry Chocolate Brownies

Makes 12 brownies
Ingredients
1/2 cup Morlife Dark Chocolate Coated 5 Berry Mix
1 cup unsweetened apple purée/sauce
1/3 cup cocoa
3/4 cup wholemeal self-raising flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup coconut palm sugar or brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup LSA
Method
- Preheat the oven to 175°C and line a 20 x 20cm baking tray with baking paper.
- Place apple purée in a bowl. Sift in the cocoa, flour and baking soda. Add the sugar, salt and LSA then mix until just combined. Be careful not to over-stir the mix, as this can toughen the brownies. Gently fold in the Morlife Dark Chocolate Coated 5 Berry Mix.
- Pour the mix into the prepared tray and bake in preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes or until the brownies feel set but with a fudge-like consistency.
- Cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before turning out. Cool completely before slicing into squares.
- Optional: For those wanting a little more dark chocolate indulgence, melt a small amount of dark chocolate in a glass bowl over a pot of simmering water, then lightly drizzle the chocolate over the top of the cooked brownies before slicing.
Serve with fresh berries.
